Beets are a staple root vegetable of Canada, and you can find them on tables all across the country during family dinners. Although cooked beets are also tasty, this recipe uses the pickled kind. Whether you use store-bought pickled beets or your homemade version, this recipe is sure to please all beet lovers.

Ingredients
- 3 1-inch (2.5 cm) chunks pickled beet
- 2 dashes cayenne hot sauce
- 2 dashes Worcestershire sauce
- 4 grinds fresh cracked black pepper
- 1 oz (30 mL) gin
- 4 oz (120 mL) Mott’s Clamato Cocktail
Instructions
1. In a mixing glass, muddle everything but the gin and Mott’s Clamato Cocktail.
2. Add the gin and Mott’s Clamato Cocktail, and stir well to mix and spread the flavours around.
3. Rim a highball glass and fill to the top with ice.
4. Strain the mixture into the highball glass, and garnish.
